Dr. Martin MacDonald is a respiratory physician consultant at Monash Lung, Sleep, Allergy & Immunology at Monash Health.
Martin has over 20 publications and maintains an active and diverse clinical caseload of adult respiratory disease. He regularly contributes to professional development activities within the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and European Respiratory Society and supports the training and development of local general practitioners and advanced trainees in respiratory medicine.
Martin completed his PhD in 2020 on the topic of phenotyping acute exacerbations of COPD. This aligns with his strong research interests that centre upon the ways we can improve health outcomes for people affected by COPD, particularly with regards to the care they receive while hospitalised due to acute exacerbations.
