Dr. Belinda Thomas is a Senior Scientist with strong emphasis on translational and clinically relevant research. Belinda is based at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research but maintains active links with many multidisciplinary healthcare researchers across Monash Lung, Sleep, Allergy & Immunology.
Belinda has over 15 publications and has successfully secured research funding from a range of organisations including local hospitals, philanthropic organisations as well as NHMRC project grants. Belinda regularly supervises biomedical student projects and maintains constructive collaborations with respiratory scientific and pharmacology research laboratories across Australia. She has contributed to several scientific activities within the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand including supporting early career scientist researchers to better understand models of inflammatory diseases, particularly the role of TGF-beta in chronic lung diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis.
